The ALTON STERLING EP is dedicated to all of the victims and all of the families of the victims of anti-Black police violence, acknowledging that these problems also exist outside of the U.S.

In solidarity with, and in support of activists working against anti-Black police violence in Toronto, all sales of this EP will be donated to Black Lives Matter Toronto.

Alton Sterling was shot dead by police outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 5, 2016. It was the first police killing that I saw on video and I made this mix shortly after seeing it as I reflected on disturbing realities. This mix features the subsequent demonstrations against police violence that took place in the U.S. throughout July of 2016.

It's an invitation to listen to the sounds of political protest balanced with the serenity of collective purpose, and it's about listening to the truths and emotions that connect us all.
